THE TONY AWARDS LEGACY


The Tony Awards is simply known as "The Oscars" of Broadway. Every year the Broadway season is honored and the newest shows are recognized and become what is considered the best new show of the Broadway season. The Broadway Community has embraced the Tony Awrds honorary night ever since the beginning. The very first award ceremony started in 1947, with only a mere 1,000 people attending in prestigious hotels such as The Plaza, The Waldorf Astoria and The Astor. Now, more than 5,000 anually attend the Tony Awards cermemony at Radio City Music Hall and millions more watching it across the country on CBS making this ceremony the biggest highlight for the New York Theater season.

 

 

THE NOMINEES

This years Tony Awards will air live on CBS from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 15th at 8pm. NYC Pocket wishes to congratulate all the nominees for a spectacular 2007-2008 Broadway Season. Best of luck to all the nominees. The list below are this year's nominees:
